Treibacher Industrie AG develops and produces high-performance materials for demanding applications, including in aviation, biomedicine, catalysis, and the steel industry. Its products make an important contribution to environmental protection, resource conservation, and a higher
quality of life.

Treibacher was specifically looking for a modern invoice processing solution to replace its existing system and automate the recording of several hundred incoming invoices per day, thereby reducing the workload. The system previously used, which was based on classic trainable AI, was never able to achieve satisfactory automation rates due to the complexity of the invoices:

• Recognition rate of around 50% for fields relevant to posting
• Constant retraining of the recognition logic
• Media breaks due to manual correction entries in SAP
• High time expenditure for employees in accounting and IT

Treibacher’s objective was clearly defined: On the one hand, invoice processing was to be automated through higher recognition rates, including seamless processing of e-invoices and ZUGFeRD format. At the same time, optimal integration with the existing SAP S/4HANA system was essential to avoid media discontinuity and ensure a consistent digital workflow. Last but not least, the new solution had to be easily scalable as a SAAS model in order to grow with increasing requirements and reduce the burden on IT resources.
